I started using tampons the summer between my 7th & 8th grade years. We had just moved to a new lake community that spring. I told one of my new friends that I couldn’t go hang out on the lake because I didn’t use tampons. It was there in my bathroom that my friend explained to me what I use and how I do it.

I eventually figured it out but I never thought twice about the materials I was putting in my body. I mean what choice did I have? I wasn’t about to go all hippie or lock myself in the bathtub for 5-7 days.

I was 12 when I learned how to use a tampon.

I was 25 when I learned what was in a tampon.

Synthetic fibers, chemical additives, fragrance, dyes, chlorine bleach, GMOs, pesticides, toxins, latex, formaldehyde.. these are common ingredients used in our feminine products.

Think about it. Those scary sounding ingredients are sitting INSIDE your body for hours, where the lining is super thin, with direct access to your blood stream which then carries these ingredients all throughout your body. WTF. If no body had mentioned me looking into my feminine products when I started on my clean journey, I might have continued poisoning myself for years.

Since then, I have tried all the things.. liners, pads, cups, nope.. none of them are convenient for me. I did the pad thing for a while but how am I supposed to walk around in public feeling my best when I’m basically wearing a diaper. Tampons are my jam during shark week so I needed to find CLEAN ones.
