The Ward Family Gender Reveal

After I got over the initial shock of finding out I was pregnant, I began daydreaming of all the things.. The gender being the biggest one! At 10 weeks I had some blood work done and during that panel they were able to determine the gender of our growing baby. That test was done on January 15th and after about 10 days we got a call that the results were in. I picked up a sealed envelope from my doctor’s office on January 29th and then we waited to find out the results for what seemed like the longest 7 weeks ever!

We started brainstorming about how we would reveal the gender. Our family and most of our friends live out of state and we didn’t think planning a party back in California was the most realistic approach. If we weren’t going to have a party, we would need a creative and memorable way to find out and of course, have it all captured to share with our loved ones.

Fireworks! I mean, we do live in Texas after all. The shops out here even sell Gender Reveal kits! I’m talking the big fireworks that shoot up into the sky like the 4th of July. Perfect, we started planning and realized there were too many roadblocks to really pull this off how we wanted to. With fireworks out, we were back to square one. Josh, being the man he is, wanted to do something rad and manly like shoot guns, jump out of airplanes, blow something up.. all which sound cool and would make for a great video, but none I could really participate in. I knew I had to come up with a fun idea to convince him.

Below you will find the video announcement we were able to put together. The emotions captured are so special to us and I am grateful we will have this memory for a lifetime, and this special video to share with our little babe. We hope you love it!
